Sleep Medicine
Sleep medicine is the study of various sleep disorders, the most common of which is Obstructive Sleep Apnea. People who suffer from (OSA) actually stop breathing for a moment, several times during the sleep cycle.
If you have Obstructive Sleep Apnea, you are more than twice as likely to have heart failure or develop hypertension. You are also more likely to have a stroke, develop diabetes or coronary artery disease, or struggle with obesity. Sleep deprivation caused by this condition can lead to short-term memory loss, difficulty concentrating and falling asleep unintentionally while driving.
In addition to Obstructive Sleep Apnea, we evaluate and treat the following sleep conditions:
- Snoring
- Insomnia
- Narcolepsy
- Sleepwalking
- Sleep talking
- Night terrors
- Nightmares
- Restless leg syndrome
